Take the opening region slowly and let the combat lessons sink in. Auto-attacks charge your Arts, Arts recharge on their own timers, and switching classes early raises Class Rank which unlocks Master Arts for the whole party. Recruit your first Heroes as soon as their quests appear, and liberate colonies to raise affinity and improve shop stock before pushing the story forward.

The base game has twenty-six playable classes across Defender, Attacker and Healer roles. Almost all unlock by recruiting Heroes through their Hero quests, with a few arriving via story progression and two more through the Expansion Pass. Once a class is unlocked, any character can level it, and rank ten teaches its Master Arts to everyone.

Position yourself behind or beside the enemy to trigger positional Art bonuses, fuse two Arts with matching recharge for combined effects, and build the Talent Gauge for a signature move. Save your Chain Attack for a boss enrage phase, and aim for the Amazing rating at two hundred plus TP to extend the chain and multiply your damage.

There are nineteen Heroes in the base game, each recruited through a dedicated quest that appears as the story advances or colony affinity rises. Every Hero unlocks a class for the entire party and brings their own Arts as a seventh member. Ascension quests later raise their class cap and grant additional Master Arts, so recruiting them all is always worthwhile.

Paired characters can Interlink into an Ouroboros form with its own Arts, and spending the shared Heat Gauge raises the Interlink Level up to three. Overheating ends the transformation and forces a cooldown, so build the level patiently and transform when the enemy is staggered. A level three Ouroboros Order is one of the largest damage spikes in the game.

Craft gems at rest spots by combining materials and ether, then equip them to characters where they improve every class you run. Damage, critical rate and Arts recharge gems give the broadest benefit. Fusing duplicate low-tier gems into stronger ones is usually cheaper than farming top-tier materials, so keep duplicates rather than selling them.

Normal difficulty is well tuned and forgiving if you keep a balanced party and understand Art recharge. Hard mode raises enemy damage and punishes poor positioning, so it suits a second playthrough. You can change difficulty from the settings menu at almost any time, and optional superbosses remain the game’s real challenge.
